The "SIVU Roc d'Enfer" is the Ski-Lift Company which is owned by the local councils of St Jean d'Aulps and Bellevaux.

History of St Jean d'Aulps

1969: Creation of a private company: the resort of "La Grande Terche" was born with only 2 draglifts
1973: Take-over by the local council
Construction of the Têtes draglift and the Grande Terche chairlift (two seater)
1975: Construction of the Esserailloux and Terchette draglifts
1976: Construction of the Bray draglift. St Jeand’Aulps became part of the Portes du soleil ski domain.
1979: Construction of 2 three seater chairlift: Chargeau and Graydon
1980: The two seater chairlift was replaced by a four seater cable car 
1983: Construction of the Lanchereau draglift
1987: Opening of the circuit Roc d’Enfer
1988 : New 6 seater cable car installed, replacing the four seater ones
24th April 2006: Saint Jean d’Aulps  was granted the certificate ISO 9001 2000
6th November 2006 : Local councils converged to create the SIVU.
2007: Installation of the snow canons 

History Bellevaux/La Chèvrerie

 

1971: Creation of a private company : the SATC (société d’aménagement touristique de la Chèvrerie) with 2 draglifts Cabri and Ecole 1

1981: Construction of 2 draglifts : Ecole 2 and Etangs

1986: Creation of the SAEM  Val D’Enfer (Société d’aménagement à économie mixte) between Bellevaux council and several small share-holders

1987: Construction of the Torchon chairlift and the Follys draglift. Opening of the circuit Roc d’Enfer.

Take over by the Bellevaux council

1992: Installation of the first snow canon

1998: Installation of snow canons on the Châl piste

6 Novembre 2006 :  Local councils converged to create the SIVU
